Special Issue: Rest easy . . . for now.  Congress kicked the can (again).

Politicians Playing Politics with Your Money

Congress passes a temporary SGR fix.

The House of Representatives voted via "Unanimous Consent" to approve the two-month postponement of the SGR cut the Senate passed almost a week ago.  President Obama has signed the legislation into law.

What about the planned hold?

Though there is no official word from CMS yet, this postponement should cancel or postpone the planned hold on Medicare billings CMS announced earlier in the week.

So what now?

Now is a good time to write a serious letter or email or make a phone call to your representatives to let them know the seriousness of playing politics with patient care.  You can also join with the hundreds of health provider organizations and the thousands of physicians and other healthcare providers in signing a shared petition expressing their dismay at the ridiculous mess the entire SGR fiasco has become.
